Hi Derek.
Thank you for your post. It was very interesting. Howerver, I am a French community manager working as a freelancer and I have a question for you : Are the free monitoring tools ineffective ? If not, do you know any free tool that are relevant ?

Thank you in advance for your response ;)

A player that's been in the space for a long time and has a great product for the money is Biz360. Their product is Community Insights and it's got some pretty great stuff packed into it.

Hello Derek,

Another alternative is Filtrbox. We offer unlimited keywords and results. We find many mid-size PR firms choose us over the competitors for that reason along with our reasonable pricing.

Hi Derek -

Thanks so much for posting these solutions. While I agree that Radian 6 and Techrigy are premium offerings for monitoring your brand's reach through social media. Many of (us) smaller agencies don't have clients with the budgets to utilize them.

These alternatives are great. A few I've seen and used, but a couple are new to me and will be immediately researched.

Thanks so much. Your information is very valuable.

Derek, this is a great post. My company is mid-level, and R6 was just too much $$$$$$$$$$ for our shallow pockets. This blog post was very helpful, and I will look into all of them and present the best one to my VP of marketing. Thanks!
