A big fan of Netvibes myself, I never really liked iGoogle etc, but must admit My Yahoo was the first one to offer rocking skins…

I like the full description of how you use the tool. That’s helpful to folks getting started with personalized home pages in general.

You might want to check out iGoogle which is a closer match in features to Netvibes than just the Google Reader. My Yahoo is Yahoo’s answer (although I think it’s way behind in terms of useability)
